What September says

September was a mixed month. Three of the five things people do with your profile went up. Direction requests more than doubled, 50 against 23, and on rolling monthly windows that is the strongest reading since the window ending 24 April 2026, when it was 53. Website clicks came in at 56 against 53, and Maps views at 82 against 62. Two went the other way: search views 466 against 568, and calls 14 against 21.

The two that fell are worth naming plainly. Both readings below sit on rolling monthly windows built the same way as this report's, each one the 31 days to the 24th. At 466, search views are the lowest reading since the window ending 24 February 2026, when they were 412. Calls at 14 sit in the lower half of the twelve-month range on that basis, which runs 11 to 28, with the low of 11 in the window ending 24 January 2026. The two halves of the month do not move together: fewer people saw your profile, and more of the ones who did asked for directions or clicked through to the site.

Map coverage eased for a second scan. All ten tracked searches came back flat or lower than they were on 1 September, as reported on the August 2026 tab, and the average across the ten moved from 33.3% to 28.2% of the grid in the top three. Heat pump servicing gave up the most ground, 43.2% to 29.0%. One month of that was a wobble, two is a pattern, so it is on our watch list for the next scan. Five of the ten are still well clear of where they started. Two are the exceptions: air conditioner installation now sits at 58.0% against 59.2% at baseline, just below it, and heat pump installation at 44.4% against 42.0%, only 2.4 points up. The three Christchurch terms have not moved.

One note from outside the Maps scope. Your website had a softer month as well: Search Console clicks came in at 95 against 131 in August, Google Analytics sessions at 849 against 1,275, and tracked enquiry events at 98 against 199. Maps is the scope we run for you, so Maps is what this report measures. We are naming the website figures because the dollar model on the Strategy tab is built on them, so you would spot the gap anyway. GSC GA4

This also sits inside the trading conditions you have described to us directly, and the seasonal shape of heat pump demand as the heating season ends.
